"Young carers are not like most children. They have responsibilities that other chidren do not have. They have to look after thier mum, dad, sister or brother. They don’t get to play as much as their friends or go anywhere fun. Young carers have to do adult things like buy food, bath you, play with you and do almost everything with you. They need support. They can go to a centre sometimes to play and be a child for a short time. My friend Ryan is a young carer because his brother has 5 disabilities. My wee sister has Asberger syndrome and she doesn’t know what’s right or wrong. She is starting school this year and I will have to look out for her."
